This report outlines the findings from evaluation data returned from five Family Links 10-week Nurturing Programme groups held across Manchester between May and July 2019. The impact of the groups was assessed using pre, post and 3 month follow up questionnaires, measuring changes in three key outcomes:
1. Parental mental wellbeing
2. Children’s behavioural and emotional difficulties
3. Children’s prosocial behaviour
Outcomes 1 & 2 showed statistically significant improvements after parents completed the programme, specifically:
The results showed a large and highly statistically significant improvement in parents' mental wellbeing after attending the group, and importantly, this improvement was maintained at the 3 month follow up (88% of parents completed the 3 month follow up questionnaire for this measure).
Parents also reported a highly statistically significant improvement in children's behavioural and emotional difficulties after attending the group, and again, this was maintained at the 3 month follow up (84% of parents completed the 3 month follow up questionnaire for this measure).
