Open College Network (OCN) Accreditation for Parents at Levels 1 and 2

Parents can now get Level 1 and Level 2 credits from the Open College Network for attending the 10-week Nurturing Programme.  
They can get six credits at either level for 60 hours work. These include

  • 20 hours of group work (2 hours per week for 10 weeks)
  • 20 hours of practicing the strategies at home with the family
  • 20 hours of completing the portfolio

Parent Group Leaders wishing to offer OCN accreditation to parents need to

  1. be a trained and recognised Family Links parent group leader
  2. have facilitated at least 3 parent groups
  3. attend a 1-day OCN training course
  4. complete the parent accreditation booklet before the training course
