The Nurturing Programme for Parents and Teenagers
The teenage years are often the most stressful for both parents and young people. Family Links has developed the Nurturing Programme to bring them together in the belief that empathy and self awareness on both sides can forge better relationships.
4 Parent Group Leaders (PGLs) are needed to run a 10-week course
Session Structure
- 1st hour 2 PGLs work with the parents and 2 PGLs with the teenagers
- 2nd hour all come together for Family Time
To run the Nurturing Programme for Parents and Teenagers you need to
- be a recognised Parent Group Leader
- have run at least 1 parent group
- attend an additional training day
2 of the 4 PGLs need to have experience of working with young people
During the day
- learn about the material developed especially for the teenagers and for family time
- receive a copy of the Parents and Teenagers PGL handbook
Register an interest in Parents and Teenagers Orientation Day
