Training

Family Links trains parenting support workers and school staff in the Nurturing Programme. It provides simple, effective tools to help parents and children understand and manage feelings and behaviour, which enhance learning, life skills and opportunities. The Nurturing Programme

Family Links training programmes are promoted by government organisations and included in Sure Start Children’s Centre practice guidance. OCN-accreditation at Levels 1 and 2 for parents is available.

Evidence-based research demonstrates why the Nurturing Programme is effective. 

 

Working with parents

Training in the Nurturing Programme enhances practitioners’ skills, techniques and confidence when working with parents in groups or one-to-one.

 

Parent Group Leader Training

Parent Group Leader Training – for those wanting to facilitate parent groups.

To remain licensed to practise, Parent Group Leaders are required to do an annual refresher day. After running 3 courses, they are also eligible for additional training days

The Schools and Early Years  training in the Nurturing Programme offers a whole-school approach to creating a calm, kind, respectful learning environment for children and staff. The Nurturing Programme complements the DCSF SEAL curriculum.
