Early Years
The Nurturing Programme is an excellent framework for building children's social, emotional and behavioural skills in Early Years settings.
A 2-day training for all staff explores the principles of the Nurturing Programme.
- The training is for all staff to build consistency in positive behaviour management skills and help children be emotionally healthy
- Staff are introduced to the 10-week Nurturing Programme for Early Years and Foundation Stage children, for which a series of handbooks are provided to deliver the material in Circle Time
The Programme is an excellent framework in which to promote Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE)
- reflects curriculum guidelines for Early Years
- supports the aims of the National Healthy Schools Standard
- is endorsed in the DCSF curriculum for social and emotional aspects of learning (SEAL)
The aim is to reduce staff stress and for children to feel calm, secure and ready to learn.
The course takes place over 2 consecutive days. Staff must attend both days.
